MISTY MORNING - Saint Shroom 12" artwork

Here's a sneak peak at the front cover artwork for the forthcoming Saint Shroom 12" vinyl EP from MISTY MORNING. The full artwork stretches across to the back cover - a really lavish piece from Rome's Ver Eversum Art Lab.

The record will mark the historic first ever vinyl release for Doomanoid Records (which will now be pressed on transparent RED vinyl, NOT green as previously advertised). It goes to press in the next few days and we will have the test pressings soon (and pics will be posted here). We will start taking pre-orders from the Doomanoid website in the near future.

This will be limited to 250 copies so to avoid missing out, please check either here or the label website regularly for updates.

GROAN - Official statement

Groan 2010-2011
by Leigh Jones on Wednesday, 08 June 2011 at 00:22

"The cat's out of the bag now I guess. Groan is putting all future plans on hold for the time being.

Thanks to everybody who came to see us or bought a CD or t-shirt over the last 12 months of rock and roll insanity. Things took off in a way that none of us ever expected and it was thanks to your support. It was only fitting that things came to a head with Groan the way that they did this weekend. There are probably four different versions of the events that lead to the demise of Groan. The reasons aren't important right now.

The Riff Wizard and the Forest-Dwelling Fuzz Creature will continue to make music and record the existing Groan demos together in the future. Whether or not it's under the Groan name remains to be seen...

Thanks again to you all."

GROAN split up?

It's our sad duty to announce that UK doom rock titans Groan have split up - At least in as far as the current line up is concerned. The supernova of rock conjoured up by The Riff Wizard in 2009 has imploded. Fear not, they left behind an album which is available now, and two new tracks for a split CD with Finnish rockers Vinum Sabbatum. These will be released later this year and will mark the end of the Groan phenomenon as we know it.

So tonight we give thanks to The Riff Wizard, Mazzareth, The Forest Dwelling Fuzz Creature and Thor's Hammer for the music and the fuzzy memories.

The Riff Wizard will continue with his band Purple Elf
The Forest Dwelling Fuzz Creature has just joined Pagan-folk group Beneath The Oak
Mazzareth will contunue with his band Rattz Ass

If you never saw them live at any of the handful of shows they played , here is a taster of what you missed, and a reminder for those of us who did.
